Services: Macro Economic Advice

We give macro economic advice based on the impact the commodities and energy markets have on the economy.
Based on underlying developing trends in the energy and commodity markets we assess the impact e.g. on inflation.

We can help banks and equity analysts with assessment of how energy and commodity market trends affect stock prices. This can be indirectly via general economic impacts  such as inflation as well as directly through the impact of energy and commodity prices on stocks of utility and oil companies, but also on the stocks of e.g. car makers and steel companies.

We help governments and industry associations  assess the impacts of new policies and measures. This can range from advice on market design aspects of market liberalization to analysis of how a country or industry sector will benefit from newly proposed EU wide rules and how it could negotiate. Not all countries or industries might gain in the same way from new regulation. We help our clients come out on top.

We apply a value chain analysis analysis  because often the strategic nature of energy and commodity markets leads to heavily vertically integrated value chains, which are hard to regulate for governments or to penetrate for new entrants.

Monopolistic and oligopolistic market structures necessitate specific techniques to gain market power or control.
